Listening: Nine Inch Nails With TeethReading: Neil Gaiman Anansie Boys
It's strange that he's gone actually. It was all very last minute as he only applied for a place about two weeks ago. Before we all knew it, he'd been accepted to Letterkenny IT and was gone. Whenever I've been away, he's always been here and whenever I've come back, he's been here. It's just odd wandering around the house and knowing that he's not here anymore. His room, usually a complete mess, is all neat and tidy and half empty.
Although neither of them will admit it, my parents are going to miss him a lot. They had about four and a half years where it was just the three of them living here. Now he's gone, and in a few weeks I'll be gone too. Ah, life!
That said, just because my Mum's gonna miss him and she's all worried about how he'll settle in and everything it's no excuse to turn into a lunatic. She's driving me crazy. It's only been a day and she's already getting on my nerves. Hopefully she'll calm down soon and stop demanding to know what I'm doing and trying to sort everything out for me.
Oh, shit. I just remembered that I had a hair apointment for 9am that I meant to cancel.... Ooops!
Eowyn, I was looking through a folder of trading cards I have and I found some from the Dune TCG. I have absolutely no idea where they came from, but do you want them? I'm not really into Dune so I'd be glad to send them along to you

02) I cried in the middle of the main street of Sligo town yesterday. Over my hair.
03) I'm in a state of angry denial over said hair.
04) My Babysitters Club shopping spree continues apace. I now have a whopping 30 books. Woohoo! I was actually surprised when rereading them at how well they're written. I mean, they're actually still good. I'm also surprised that when they were published here the publising company went to the effort of changing certain words like 'sneakers' and 'chips' to their British equivalents. Well done, Hippo. Full marks for you!
05) Mackenzie, are you a cover whore? If you are I have three spare BSC books (my shopping is such that I've managed to acquire doubles. Go me!) - # 2, 11 & 16. I can send them to you if you'd like them. I promise the British covers are cooler than the American ones. But then I say that about all covers.
06) I'm tired. I only managed to get about four hours of sleep and I have to go to work soon. Blah. I'm so glad I only have a week left. I honestly can't take much more.
07) I bought really, really cool Bartleby and Loki (Dogma) inaction figures for €5 each. Bargain! Have I mentioned that they're really, really cool?
08) I found my Junior Cert. results in an X-Files book the other day leading to a moment of 'oooooohhhhhhhh, so that's were they got to!'

This morning I spent ages working on a layout and some content for a fanlisting I'd adopted - No Choirboy, The Walter Skinner Fanlisting. Yes, that's Skinner from The X-Files. The header image is something very different from my usual layout graphics, so I'd love to get some feedback on it. Pretty please?
That done I fulfilled my trouble checker duties at TFL.org which took longer than I thought it would, especially since I was unsure of what categories some of the fls fell into. Still, the list is sent and hopefully it's workable. By the way, full credit to the Authors/Writers staffer for tracking me down even though my original application was under my old domain and e-mail address.
So now it's coming up to 6pm and I think I might abandon internet-type-things for the day and attempt to get a bit of a nap in before I go to work (only two weeks left - huzzah!). I have an absolute pile of stuff to do though *grumble*
And since I've been a bit all over the place lately, here's a list of some recent fanlistings of mine that you may not have realised I own:
Simplicity, Humour, Soul - High Fidelity by Nick Hornby - Literature
Sly Charm & Reflection - Nick Hornby - Authors/Writers
As Bob as my Witless - Rugrats - Animation
Ridge of Noctana - Martouf (Stargate: SG-1) - Characters: TV
No Choirboy - A.D. Skinner (The X-Files) - Characters: TV

Speaking of domain things, Caitlin, did you get the new login details that I sent you? I realised that I don't have your current e-mail address and I had to send them to the one you have listed on your LJ userinfo.
GAIM keeps shutting down on me, which means I'll have to uninstall and reinstall it I suppose... In the mean time I'm reinstalling AIM *spits out the dirty*
I watched Ultraviolet last night. My main thought after the movie (and during for that matter) is 'what the fuck?' It's quite pretty to look at, although over choreographed, but that's about it. The plot seems to be pushed to side for shots of Violet killing people in a very unconvincing manner. Why did they make her look so airbrushed? Was it supposed to be some side-effect of the virus? And what was with the changing hair and clothes colour? And why did whatshisname, the bad guy, survive for so much longer that other 'vampires'? What an amazingly disappointing movie. The worst part is, I can see how it might have worked if they hadn't tried to be all arty and self-satisfied with their vision.
I should stop blathering now and go do some stuff. Stuff is good.
Edit: Okay, so on my way to achieve actual things I got sidetracked by the wonder that is M*A*S*H. Did you know there was a spin-off, afterMASH, and an almost-second spin-off, W*A*L*T*E*R? No, me neither. I now have a burning desire to see them both (although I don't think W*A*L*T*E*R was ever broadcast). I've also remembered a former burning desire to read the books *tries to stay away from eBay*
LJ-wise, there's an icon community, mash_icons, and an icon challenge community, mashstillness, both of which I've joined. I ransacked mash_icons and found some great icons, and I signed up to mashstillness and spent too much time working on some entries.
I also found a M*A*S*H moodtheme which got me all excited. Sadly, it does mean that I've abandoned the Empire Records moodtheme, but the images in that one were all out of whack ratio-wise.
M*A*S*H I love thee!
Edit 2: La la la la la...
My Dreamhost panel won't open up *pokes it*
This is making the whole fixing my website thing difficult...
I suppose I could work on a layout or something.
La la la la la!
